Can you walk us through a typical day in your life?
Mornings begin with a brisk walk through our tree-lined Brisbane South streets followed by a coffee in hand by daycare drop-off time. From 9 AM to 5 PM, I’m immersed in identifying and mitigating risks for a global insurer. Late afternoons call for a second stroll to reset my mind. Evenings often extend well past bedtime stories, as I dedicate a lot of hours to the Daraja Impact Hub to ensure the program is running smoothly, strategizing on growth and it’s sustainability. Only after that do I pause for a final ritual of reflection either through a thought-provoking podcast or a few pages from a leadership book before lights out.

What dishes hold a special place in your heart?
Food has always been a thread that ties me to my roots. My ultimate comfort meal is sadza (pap) with gango—a hearty mix of pork, beef, sausages and covo (Chinese broccoli)—which instantly takes me back to family gatherings in Mutare, Zimbabwe. In Brisbane, we’ve added our own spin to things, and you’ll often find us firing up peri-peri chicken and pork spareribs with chargrilled veggies, inspired by Zimbabwean flavours. Each dish tells a story.

How would you describe your home, and what makes it truly feel like you?
Our sunlit home blends modern Australian minimalism with African warmth. A door mat stamped “K² welcomes you” (for Kudzai x Kuda) welcomes every guest. Inside, shelves brim with books on sustainability and African history, while framed photos from our family vacations and milestones line the hallway, daily reminders of lives transformed through connection. It is a space where culture, ambition, and love co-exist.
Are there any travel destinations that have left a lasting impression on you?
While I’ve had unforgettable adventures in Europe, one standout memory comes from Miami, cruising along Millionaire’s Row with a Cubano cigar in hand, a glass of whiskey by my side, and the ocean breeze wrapping around me. That feeling of freedom and luxury is hard to top. That said, Africa will always be home to my spirit. The Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe—Nyanga, Vumba, Honde Valley hold my childhood memories. Cape Town has stolen my heart with its rich history and stunning scenery. I’m especially excited for my upcoming trip to Kenya, where I’ll finally meet some of the Daraja mentors and mentees in person as they will be travelling back home at the same time as me this December.

What hobbies or passions do you enjoy when you’re not working?
I’m passionate about travel, youth empowerment, and creating spaces for meaningful conversation. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking, spending time with family and friends, or hosting casual get-togethers (Sadza Sundays) where African dishes and deep conversations are always on the menu. These moments keep me grounded and remind me why I do what I do.
